10 Things You Might Not Know About The Dig For Victory Show

As we have finally reached the last Monday before the show, I thought we’d share some facts about The Dig for Victory Show that you might not know!DSCN0190.jpg1. There is Camping available if you’d like to make a weekend of the event! We will have two working 3.7 inch heavy anti aircraft guns in action at the show!DSCN03113. Every year the Dig for Victory Show raise funds for a chosen Charity. This year we are proud to support Walking With The Wounded and Weston Hospicecare.

4.The French army reenactment group will be doing a demonstration of battle tactics in the arena, both Saturday and Sunday.DSCN02305. On our children’s wartime activity trail you can try your hand at defusing our UXB , look at a landing craft through a periscope, check the tyres and water on a jeep , type your name using an old typewriter and enjoy a week’s sweet ration for all your hard work!DSCN02686. We’ve got some lovely music lined up for the whole weekend in the Victory marquee so bring your dancing shoes!DSCN01987. How do you cook with rations? The Ministry of food cooking demonstrations in the Home Front Marquee might help.DSCN01868. There will be a special celebration of the Queen’s 90th Birthday in the Victory Marquee on Saturday 11th at 15.15.fly9. Weather permitting we’ve got a Spitfire flypast on Saturday and a Spitfire and Hurricane flypast on Sunday! See program on website for timings.
