Down at the Shopland Collection workshops this week, we’ve been hammering away (often literally) at the two Bedford QLs.
Mike had the task of freshening up a rather rusty and smashed side mirror – with sanding, painting and some fresh glass. Good as new!
Niels (a friend from Denmark, who suffers from the same addiction to old iron we do!) came down to help on the QL Tipper. To get to the front brakes, the hub needs to be disassembled, which Niels and James managed to do fairly quickly.
Rich has rigged up the trafficator (semaphore) on the Army QL using a spare bracket, a rather elegant and robust alternative to indicators! Now the wiring is nearly finished on this truck, the tipper can be wired to match.
